It has been a long time since a set of albums has reached such a feat in sales record as the Britney Spears discography. Britney Spears is truly a lucky girl, with her first album selling more than 12 million in the U.S. and 28 million around the world in a span of only two months. Not all artists get lucky with their first album. Most become one-hit-wonders, but Britney became a pop icon. Truly, talent cannot be overlooked.  And that is why I consider her as my idol.

The Britney Spears Discography

Britney Spears is an American recording artist. She has released sevens studio albums and twelve compilation albums. The seven studio albums are: ‘Baby One More Time’, ‘Oops!…I Did It Again’, ‘Britney’, ‘In The Zone’, ‘Blackout’, ‘Circus’, and ‘Femme Fatale’. All of these albums were released under Jive Records.

Her compilation albums were mostly composed of remixes of her dance songs, compilation of her albums Circus and Blackout, compilation of Blackout and Femme Fatale, live albums, as well as her Greatest Hits.

Starting Out As An Artist

Britney Spears initially envisioned herself to be somewhat like Sheryl Crow. However, producers thought it made more sense for her to lean towards pop music. Spears agreed that it was more her style and that she could dance to pop music.

She started her musical career at a very young age, barely 16 years old. But she was already doing commercials, singing competitions and theater at an earlier age. Britney Spears is truly a multitalented artist.

The Britney Spears Discography That Built Her Career

Lucky enough for Britney, she became an instant hit as soon as her first single and album was launched. The album ‘Baby One More Time’ generated record sales of more than 12 million in the US and around 28 million from the rest of the world.

Her second album ‘Oops!…I Did It Again’ reached a record number of sales on the first week it was released. It was recognized as the fastest-selling album ever made by a female recording artist. It sold 1,319,193 units in just one week. In total, it sold 10,411,000 units in the US and more than 24 million worldwide.

Although album sales have declined in her succeeding albums, it still never failed to reach the 1 million mark, which is still a huge feat for any artist. Nevertheless, she has already established herself as a universal pop icon and gets endorsements left and right.

Collaborations With Her Favorite Artist

Britney Spears DiscographyBritney Spears is one of the lucky ones because she got to work on a song with her idol in the music industry. In her album ‘In The Zone’ which was released in 2003, a featured song entitled ‘Me Against The Music’ was a collaboration with her one and only idol, Madonna. This song reached the top of the European Hit 100 Singles.

Britney Spears is recognized today as a highly controversial (when it comes to her personal life) yet a very talented artist idolized by many teenagers around the world. Many of the songs in the Britney Spears discography are truly inspirational and reflect so much about Britney’s life and emotions.
