Hers is one of the most colorful careers in the music industry, looking at Britney Spears discography we can say that she is also one of the most talented female singers that we have today. Aren’t most of us glad that she made a huge comeback last year?

Britney Spears Discography – The Early Days

While she sings mostly dance songs, Britney has proven that she can also sing slow songs as showcased in some of her soulful slow love songs. She first came into the public eye as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club. After she graduated from the show, she went on to pursue a career in singing.

As a fan that has grown up watching her sing and dance on the Disney show, I surely followed her career in singing. Her first album titled Britney Spears … Baby One More Time that was released in January 1999 became such a phenomenal hit. The album spawned several number 1 songs on the charts not just in the United States but around the world.

Hit Me Baby One More Time: Britney Spears Discography

This song catapulted her to the top of the charts and she wasn’t even in her 20s yet when she recorded and released that song! In my books, she is just amazing!

She doesn’t have the most beautiful songs, and with this song she sounds rather nasally, but for me she is awesome. This first single out of the debut album is about love and relationships. She was destined for success after that first song became a hit not just in the US and Canada but in other parts of the globe.

Enjoyed Continuous Success

Her succeeding album was equally successful, Oops! I Did It Again, selling as much as 25 million in the world. Even if the sound is still almost the same as her first album, her songs here started to introduce her to her fans as more mature singer and individual. This album spawned three hits worldwide, the title track, Lucky, and Stronger.

Struggled With The Third Album

With her self-titled third album, Britney, was not as successful as her past two albums. Released in 2001, the album attempted to showcase her growth into adulthood. Not too many fans, including me, liked her transformation from a teenager into adulthood. She was heavily involved in its production. Personally, I didn’t like some of her songs, like I’m a Slave 4 U. I felt it didn’t fit her just yet. This is her only album to date not to produce top 10 hits in Billboard 100. One song seemed to have defined what she really wanted to convey, the song I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.

The Fourth Album

Britney Spears DiscographyIn the Zone, her fourth album was released after two years. This more than affirms her journey to becoming an adult pop star. After her tour to promote the second album and her breakup with then boyfriend Justine Timberlake, she took a 6-month hiatus and when she came back she did this fourth album. Her collaborations with big named stars like Moby, R. Kelly, and Madonna were huge hits.

Britney Spears is a huge pop superstar indeed, as evidenced by the Britney Spears discography.
